In the late hours of October 13, 2014, the life of 34-year-old Gregory Morris was tragically cut short in a violent encounter at a Shreveport motel. That evening, inside a room at the Cajun Inn on Claiborne Avenue, a burst of gunfire erupted, leaving Morris fatally wounded and a woman, 30-year-old Sreeth Haskin, injured. The assailant had reportedly walked directly up to the hotel room and opened fire.
The investigation into the shooting quickly pointed to a single suspect.
Evidence gathered by Shreveport Police detectives led them to 18-year-old Quindarius Allen. With the assistance of a police K-9 unit, authorities located and apprehended Allen at a residence on West 73rd Street in the early morning hours following the incident.
Following his arrest, Quindarius Allen was charged in connection with the deadly shooting. The charges brought against him were second-degree murder for the death of Gregory Morris and attempted second-degree murder for the injuries sustained by Sreeth Haskin. Haskin was reported to be in recovery following the attack.
