In the fall of 2023, a domestic argument on a Sunday night in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, ended in the tragic death of 39-year-old Leticia Darcel Elliott. On the evening of October 29th, in the 3100 block of Jackson Avenue, an altercation between Elliott and 37-year-old Daniel White escalated to a fatal degree. During the dispute, White allegedly shot Elliott, inflicting what would prove to be a mortal wound.
Emergency services responded to the scene, and Elliott was transported to a local
hospital for treatment. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, she succumbed to her injuries the following day, on Monday, October 30, 2023. Her death was classified as a homicide, and the Baton Rouge Police Department immediately launched an investigation into the shooting.
In the wake of the incident, authorities identified Daniel White as the primary suspect in Elliott's murder. Believing him to be armed and dangerous, the police department sought public assistance in locating him. The search for White concluded on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, when he was taken into custody by law enforcement. Following his arrest, Daniel White was booked on the charge of second-degree murder for his alleged role in the death of Leticia Darcel Elliott.
