Hong Im Ballenger, a 45-year-old Korean woman, was tragically murdered on September 23, 2002, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was the manager of a beauty supplies store and was killed as she left work and got into her car. The motive for her killing was robbery. Witnesses reported seeing a young man running from the scene and a dark blue sedan idling nearby.
