On December 30, 2023, a shooting incident occurred at Park Ridge Estates, a townhouse complex off West Alabama Avenue in Ruston, Louisiana. The victims were Tracy Hampton of Arcadia and Robert Thompson of Jonesboro, both of whom were shot in the head. Responding officers found one victim on the ground outside one of the townhouses and the other inside an idling vehicle nearby.
