In the early morning hours of a Friday in Opelousas, Louisiana, the life of 46-year-old Christopher James Lavergne, Sr. was tragically cut short. On February 16, 2024, Lavergne was found shot to death on Patsy Street, a victim of gun violence that abruptly ended his journey.
At this time, there have been no public announcements regarding any arrests or the identification of any suspects in connection with the shooting death of Christopher Lavergne.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding his homicide is ongoing.
Lavergne was a father to three sons, Ne'Var Lazard, Jamarcus Lavergne, and Christopher James Lavergne, Jr., and two daughters, Alyssa Mouton and Ka'Mari Hebert. He was also a grandfather of three. He is remembered by his surviving brother, Brett Lavergne, and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie James and Leaster Thomas Lavergne, Sr., a son, Justin Rashawn Mouton, a brother, Willie Lavergne, Jr., and a sister, Crystal Lavergne. Funeral services were held for him on March 2, 2024, and he was laid to rest in the Garden of Memory Cemetery in Opelousas.
