Damien Joseph Lastrapes Jr., a 19-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on February 6, 2022, in Opelousas, Louisiana. The incident occurred at the Knights of Columbus Hall on LA Highway 104, where a group of people had gathered for a party. According to the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office, Lastrapes Jr. was dropped off at a local hospital around 1:30 a.m. with a gunshot wound and later succumbed to his injuries.
