In the late hours of January 5, 2020, Terrell Wayne Ford Jr., a 28-year-old African American man, was fatally shot in Opelousas, Louisiana. The incident occurred in the parking lot of the Yambilee Grounds, where Ford had been attending a concert. He was inside his vehicle when an assailant opened fire, striking him. Tragically, his young son was also in the car at the time but was physically unharmed. Ford was rushed to a nearby hospital but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
