Chanterria “Mackey” Albert, a 23-year-old off-duty corrections deputy with the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office, was fatally shot on April 23, 2024, in Opelousas, Louisiana. The incident occurred in the 1100 block of Park Avenue, where Albert and another person were shot outside a residence around 10:30 p.m..
