In the summer of 2014, a family gathering in Opelousas, Louisiana, turned into a scene of unimaginable horror. On the evening of July 11th, 32-year-old Nancy Varis, a woman and mother, was fatally shot in the head. The devastating act of violence was carried out by her 38-year-old husband, Kerry J.
