Rachelle Arceneaux Hills, a 47-year-old woman from Opelousas, Louisiana, was tragically killed on June 23, 2021. The incident occurred in her home on East Prudhomme Street, located next to the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office Public Safety Complex. Rachelle, who was of African American descent, was shot multiple times with an AK-47 type rifle by her husband, Derrick T. Hills. The fatal shooting took place in the presence of her daughter and grandson, who were in the home at the time.
