In the early morning hours of October 5, 2024, the life of 28-year-old Demonquerius Colbert, a Black male, was tragically cut short in his hometown of Mansfield, Louisiana. The incident unfolded around 2:50 AM at the intersection of Kennedy and Johnson Streets, where the stillness of the night was shattered by the sound of gunfire. When law enforcement arrived at the scene, they discovered Colbert inside his vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical services were
promptly dispatched, and Colbert was rushed to DeSoto Regional Hospital. Despite the urgent medical attention he received, his injuries proved to be too severe, and he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
