On May 6, 2023, a deadly shooting occurred at the Red Mill Apartments located near 38th Street off Franklin Road on the far east side of Indianapolis, Indiana. During this incident, 18-year-old Nicholas Powell and 17-year-old Jhavon Fisher were both shot.
