On October 26, 2023, a fatal shooting occurred in Michigan City, Indiana, resulting in the death of Susan Simmons, 58, and the injury of her husband, Thomas Simmons, 60. The incident took place around 9:12 PM in the 200 block of Calumet Avenue, where the couple was sitting inside their SUV parked in front of a residence.
