Kiara Jane Hootman, a 22-year-old resident of Michigan City, Indiana, was fatally shot on August 15, 2024. She and 35-year-old Travis Pennington were found dead in the front seats of a vehicle in the parking lot of the Normandy Village Apartments. The LaPorte County Coroner ruled their deaths as homicides, with both victims having been shot from outside the vehicle.
