In the early morning hours of August 15, 2024, the lives of 22-year-old Kiara Hootman and 35-year-old Travis Pennington were tragically cut short in Michigan City, Indiana. The two were discovered inside a vehicle in the parking lot of the Normandy Village Apartments, both having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The LaPorte County Coroner later confirmed that they were shot from outside the vehicle and ruled their deaths a homicide.
