On July 13, 2024, at approximately 3:30 a.m., Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to reports of a disturbance in the 4100 block of Edgemere Court, near 42nd Street and Millersville Road. Upon arrival, they discovered 25-year-old Nakyra La Shawn McGee with a fatal gunshot wound; she was pronounced dead at the scene.
