In the spring of 2014, the life of 45-year-old Kimberlee Carmack, a dedicated and well-regarded officer with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, was tragically cut short. A 20-year veteran of the force, she was known for her commitment to community policing and for being a loving mother and grandmother. Her death on April 17, 2014, was the culmination of a turbulent and abusive relationship with her ex-husband, who was also a fellow police officer.
