On the evening of September 6, 2024, Kia Tidwell, a 42-year-old mother of six, was driving in Gary, Indiana, when her life was tragically cut short. She was on the phone with her oldest daughter when she was struck in the head by a stray bullet. The gunfire caused her to lose control of her vehicle, which then crashed into a nearby tree.
