Kia Tidwell, a 42-year-old mother of six, was fatally shot on Friday, September 6, 2024, in Gary, Indiana. The incident occurred as she was driving eastbound on 5th Avenue near a McDonald's at the intersection of Grant Street and 5th Avenue. Tidwell, who resided in Portage, Indiana, was on her way home after visiting her mother in Gary.
