In the early morning hours of February 11, 2016, the life of 31-year-old Nicole Handley, a female resident of Gary, Indiana, was tragically cut short. She was discovered in a residence in the 5200 block of Adams Street, having sustained fatal gunshot wounds. Alongside her was a male individual who had also been shot and killed. Both Handley and the man were pronounced dead at the scene by the Lake County Coroner's Office, and their deaths were subsequently ruled as homicides.
