Ashanti Moneek Brown, a 20-year-old aspiring nurse from Olympia Fields, Illinois, tragically lost her life in a shooting incident on July 5, 2022, during a block party in Gary, Indiana. The shooting occurred in the early hours of the morning, around 12:46 a.m., in the 1900 block of Missouri Street. This incident also claimed the lives of Marquise Hall, 26, and Laurence Mangum, 25, and left ten others injured.
