In the summer of 1984, a 25-year-old woman named Donna Williams became a victim in a string of violent crimes that spread across the Midwest. In June of that year, in Gary, Indiana, Williams was befriended by a couple who presented themselves as 'Phil and Pam'. This encounter would prove to be fatal. The couple, whose real names were Alton Coleman and Debra Brown, subjected Williams to a brutal assault, which included rape and strangulation, before stealing her car and fleeing the area.
