In the late summer of 2018, a tragedy unfolded in Gary, Indiana, that cut short the life of a two-year-old girl named Jayla Miller. On the evening of September 4th, emergency services were summoned to a residence on Polk Street where they found young Jayla with a critical gunshot wound to her head.
