In the early morning hours of April 30, 2022, a sense of unease settled over a neighborhood in Gary, Indiana. Police received a distressing call reporting a woman had been shot inside a home on the 4000 block of Polk Street. When officers arrived around 2:30 a.m., they were met with a tragic scene. Inside the residence, they discovered two women who were unresponsive, both having sustained gunshot wounds.
One of the victims was identified as 40-year-old Cindy Wolf, a female.
The other woman was 34-year-old Kathryn Naglosky. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, both women were pronounced dead at the scene. The Lake County Coroner's office would later confirm that the cause of death for both Cindy Wolf and Kathryn Naglosky was gunshot wounds.
The Gary/Lake County Metro Homicide Unit immediately launched an investigation into the double homicide. Detectives began the arduous task of piecing together the events that led to the violent deaths of the two women. As of now, authorities have not publicly identified any suspects in connection with the murders, and no arrests have been made. The investigation remains ongoing as law enforcement continues to seek information from the public that might bring justice for Cindy Wolf and Kathryn Naglosky.
