In the fall of 2017, a welfare check at a residence in Gary, Indiana, led to a grim discovery and the beginning of a lingering mystery. On October 19th, police officers entered a home in the 200 block of Taft Place to find the body of 26-year-old Mariah Jones. The young woman, a resident of the city, was found deceased inside her bedroom.
