In the late morning of September 3, 2025, police were dispatched to a residence in the 2300 block of 20th Place in Gary, Indiana, where they discovered the body of 47-year-old Nicole Mabon-Brewer. An autopsy later confirmed that the cause of her death was a gunshot wound. The manner of her death remains pending as the investigation continues.
