Daja Brookshire, a 15-year-old girl from Gary, Indiana, tragically lost her life on August 2, 2015, in a drive-by shooting. Daja was a promising track star at Gary's West Side High School. On the night of her death, she was with her boyfriend and a female friend, visiting the home of the friend's grandmother.
