In the winter of 2014, a grim discovery brought to light the tragic fate of 53-year-old Sonya Billingsley, a woman from Gary, Indiana, who had been reported missing on February 7th of that year. Her remains were found on October 10, 2014, in an abandoned building at 413 E. 43rd Ave. in Gary. For months, her identity remained unknown, a heartbreaking mystery for her family and investigators, until DNA analysis confirmed the remains were hers.
