On the evening of October 19, 2024, 21-year-old Black male Jeique Dejuan Peters was fatally shot on the east side of Indianapolis, Indiana. The incident occurred around 9:22 p.m. in the 2000 block of North Drexel Avenue, near East 21st Street. Responding to multiple reports of gunfire, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers arrived to find Peters lying in the street with gunshot wounds. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene.
