Philly Joe Alexander Jr., aged 36, was fatally shot on October 12, 2017, on the near-east side of Indianapolis. The incident occurred around the intersection of 10th Street and North Rural Street. Police officers responding to reports of gunshots found Alexander suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in front of a residence in the 1000 block of North Rural Street. He was taken to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
