Herbert H. Dillard, a 34-year-old Black / African American male from Indianapolis, Indiana, was killed on August 7, 2014, in a predawn burst of gunfire that left him lying in the street near the intersection of Roosevelt Avenue and Valley Avenue, not far from Keystone and Rural.
