On August 19, 2024, emergency responders in Indianapolis, Indiana, were dispatched to a reported shooting on the city's near west side. The incident occurred shortly before 2:00 p.m. in the 3600 block of West Michigan Street, near the intersection with Tibbs Avenue. Upon arrival, police discovered Nathaniel Lee Thomas, a 21-year-old male, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of first responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
