At the time of his death, Beushausen was working as a driver for Uber, a job he had taken on more recently in his varied career.
Christopher Alan Beushausen, born on March 9, 1985, had dedicated much of his life to serving his country and community. A graduate of North White High School in 2003, he immediately enlisted in the United States Army and served until 2010. His military career included a deployment to Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. After his service, he pursued a degree in Criminal Justice from Ivy Tech and went on to become a Deputy for the Marion County Sheriff's Department, where he also served as a School Resource Officer, demonstrating a commitment to the safety and well-being of others.
Beyond his professional life, Beushausen was a man of many passions. He was a roller coaster enthusiast who started a group called 'Thrill Ridez!' to share his love for amusement parks. He also enjoyed traveling to museums, trying new foods, and watching movies. He was a father to four children and was engaged to be married. His sudden and violent death left his family, including his mother, stepfather, and brother, to mourn a man known for his smile and dedicated service.
As of now, the circumstances leading to the fatal shooting remain under investigation by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
