Demetrius Ford, a 27-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on July 14, 2019, in Decatur, Illinois. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning in the 1400 block of East Hickory. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Ford dead on the front porch of a residence, having suffered fatal gunshot wounds. The Macon County Coroner, Michael Day, confirmed that Ford had died from gunshot trauma.
