In the late hours of September 6, 2020, in Indianapolis, Indiana, a burst of violence on the city's near east side brought a tragic end to the life of 45-year-old Burnis Perry Beecher Jr. A Black/African American male, Beecher was caught in a deadly overnight shooting. Emergency medical services arrived at the scene and quickly transported him to a nearby hospital in a desperate attempt to save his life. Despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
