In a tragic incident on Father's Day, June 18, 2023, a 31-year-old man named Bryson Moten lost his life in a shooting that occurred at a residence on Brook Lea Cove in Lawrenceville, Georgia. The unfortunate event unfolded at approximately 2:45 p.m. when Gwinnett County police were dispatched to the home following a report of a person being shot. Upon their arrival, officers discovered Bryson Moten deceased from his injuries.
Family members at the scene had attempted to render aid to Moten, but their efforts were ultimately in vain.
The investigation into the shooting quickly identified Bryson's younger brother, 21-year-old Justin Lacy, as the individual responsible. According to police reports, Lacy was inside the house when he discharged a firearm through a closed bedroom door, striking and fatally wounding his brother.
