Gerrod Black, a 45-year-old Black man, was identified by Garden City police as the person killed in a shooting on August 24, 2023. According to local reporting, the violence unfolded on the 1500 block of Old Dean Forest Road in Garden City, just outside Savannah, where officers found him suffering from a gunshot wound.
