Randy Thomas Hooks, a 53-year-old man from Savannah, Georgia, died on December 25, 2015. He was found deceased in his pickup truck after it had collided with two vehicles and a tree. The initial investigation revealed that Hooks had been shot three times before the collision. The Savannah-Chatham Metro Police responded to a ShotSpotter alert at Reynolds and East 40th streets, where they discovered Hooks' body. The circumstances surrounding his death led to a murder investigation.
