In the summer of 2024, the life of 16-year-old Sadiq Antonio Brown was tragically cut short in a shooting in south Augusta, Georgia. On the night of July 5th, in the parking lot of A-Town Wings on Peach Orchard Road, the Wrens teenager was shot at least once. He was transported to a local hospital by a private vehicle but ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 11:34 p.m.
The investigation into the death of the male teenager led authorities to identify three
suspects. The Richmond County Sheriff's Office announced that 18-year-old Kieran Darnell Walters was wanted for murder in connection with Brown's death. Walters, described as a Black male, was known to frequent the Harrisburg neighborhood and was considered armed and dangerous. Another suspect, 19-year-old Malcolm Bryant, was taken into custody in August 2024 and charged with murder and possession of a firearm or knife during a crime.
The search for the remaining suspects continued into the new year. In January 2025, the U.S. Marshals Southeastern Fugitive Task Force, along with local law enforcement, apprehended Deontray Denzell Donovan during a traffic stop on Gordon Highway. Donovan was the third individual charged in the murder of Sadiq Brown. While two of the three accused were in custody, authorities continued their search for Kieran Darnell Walters, who remained at large.
