Alphonzo Hornsby, 15, a Black male, was killed on the night of June 4, 2018, in Augusta, Georgia, after gunfire broke out in the Rolling Meadows Drive area near his neighborhood. In the days after Hornsby’s death, detectives with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office worked the case until they announced an arrest. Jamall Octavius Duke, 25, was identified as the suspect and charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
