On March 13, 2021, Damont Adams, a 21-year-old man from Duquesne, PA, was tragically shot and killed in the head near Ferndale Avenue. The incident occurred when Adams agreed to meet two individuals, 14-year-old Tyion Simmons-McClain and 14-year-old Carlo Owens, who planned to rob him of his marijuana supply. During the exchange, Adams realized the money he received was fake, and as he called out, Owens emerged from hiding and shot Adams in the head.
