In the early morning hours of a summer Saturday in Washington, D.C., the life of a young man was tragically cut short. On August 22, 2015, at approximately 2:56 a.m., gunshots shattered the predawn quiet in the 300 block of 54th Street, Northeast. Responding to a report of a shooting, officers from the Metropolitan Police Department arrived at a grim scene. They discovered 26-year-old Kenneth Earl Watson, Jr. suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
