Investigator Wayne David, a 51-year-old male veteran of the Metropolitan Police Department, died on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, following a tragic incident in the line of duty. A dedicated officer with over 25 years of service, David was known for his passion for getting illegal firearms off the streets of Washington, D.C. His long and respected career was abruptly cut short during an attempt to secure one such weapon.
