In the early hours of a Saturday morning in Washington, D.C., a tragic event unfolded that cut short a young life. On June 17, 2023, 14-year-old Stephon Shreeves was fatally shot in the 2600 block of Sheridan Road, Southeast. The male teenager was a resident of Southeast, D.C.
Just before 1 a.m., officers from the Seventh District responded to a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Stephon suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical services were called to the scene, but they could find no signs of life. Stephon Shreeves was pronounced dead at the location. His body was later transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
In the wake of the shooting, the Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Branch launched an investigation into the death of the teenager.
