In the spring of 2021, a Sunday evening in Northeast Washington, D.C. was shattered by violence that claimed the life of a young man. On May 2nd, in the 600 block of Edgewood Street, Northeast, 20-year-old Delano Harris was shot. The report of the shooting brought members of the Fifth District of the Metropolitan Police Department to the scene at approximately 8:38 p.m.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered Delano Harris suffering from a gunshot wound.
Emergency medical services were dispatched to the location, and he was quickly transported to a local hospital. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, the injuries he sustained proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead.
Detectives from the Homicide Branch of the Metropolitan Police Department are actively investigating the case. As of now, authorities have not released any information regarding potential suspects or any arrests that have been made in connection with the shooting.
