In the early hours of a September morning in Augusta, Georgia, the life of 33-year-old Dwayne Anthony Tillman II was tragically cut short. On September 15, 2023, in the 2800 block of Fairmount Street, an incident of gun violence unfolded that would leave a community in mourning. Around 12:30 a.m., deputies from the Richmond County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the scene following reports of a shooting.
Upon their arrival, they discovered Tillman, who had sustained at least one
gunshot wound. Despite any efforts to render aid, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The news of his death prompted an immediate homicide investigation by local authorities.
