In the quiet residential neighborhood of Winesap Way in Augusta, Georgia, the evening of February 18, 2026, was shattered by an act of violence that claimed the life of 19-year-old Cam’ron Tyreece Ja’vion Hallingquest. A Black male from Williston, South Carolina, and a graduate of North Augusta High School, Hallingquest’s promising future was tragically cut short.
Around 7:30 p.m., deputies from the Richmond County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the 3400 block of Winesap Way
following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Hallingquest suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was immediately transported to Wellstar Medical Center for emergency medical attention. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Hallingquest succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 8:25 p.m.
The Richmond County Sheriff's Office swiftly launched a homicide investigation into the death of Cam’ron Hallingquest. The initial response to the scene was extensive, with numerous deputies, canine units, and drones being utilized to search the area and gather evidence. The investigation remains active and ongoing, with authorities urging anyone with information to come forward.
