In the early morning hours of August 10, 2001, the life of an 11-year-old Caucasian male, Joshua Jeffries, was tragically cut short in his Portland, Oregon home. The night had been warm, and a back door was left open to let in the circulating air. It was through this unlocked door that an unknown intruder is believed to have entered the house located in the 6500 block of SE 48th Avenue.
