On the morning of September 29, 1997, the body of 47-year-old Caucasian male, Timothy Warren “Timm” Kruger, was discovered by a newspaper delivery man in Portland, Oregon. Kruger was found lying in the street near his bicycle at the intersection of North Haight Avenue and Killingsworth Street, having died from an apparent gunshot wound. An avid cyclist, Kruger worked at Freightliner on Swan Island and frequently rode his bike to work.
It is also known that he contended with both mental health and addiction issues.
A witness at the scene reported seeing a small to mid-sized older model sedan with a white or light-colored hood and roof strike Kruger around the time of the shooting. The vehicle's headlights were reportedly off. This incident remains an unresolved cold case, and as such, no arrests have been made, and no suspects have been publicly identified.
Law enforcement officials continue to seek information regarding the circumstances of Kruger's death. A reward is being offered for any information that leads to an arrest in this unsolved felony crime.
