In the late afternoon of Sunday, February 26, 2023, a burst of gunfire shattered the quiet of the 5100 block of Sheriff Road, Northeast in Washington, D.C. When officers from the Sixth District arrived at the scene around 3:42 p.m., they discovered two men who had been shot. The victims were identified as 34-year-old Harold Bogan, a male from Temple Hills, Maryland, and 32-year-old Wayne Sheppard of Seat Pleasant, Maryland.
Emergency medical services responded to the scene, but neither
man showed any signs of life. Both Harold Bogan and Wayne Sheppard were transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The case is being investigated by the Homicide Branch of the Metropolitan Police Department as a double homicide.
Authorities have not released any information regarding potential suspects or a motive for the shooting. The investigation into the deaths of Harold Bogan and Wayne Sheppard remains ongoing. The Metropolitan Police Department is urging anyone with information about the case to come forward and has offered a reward of up to $50,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the deaths.
