On a Sunday afternoon in Washington, D.C., the sound of gunshots shattered the peace in the unit block of Mississippi Avenue, Southeast. When officers from the Seventh District arrived at the scene around 4:34 p.m. on May 28, 2023, they discovered a man suffering from gunshot wounds. The man was identified as 26-year-old David Daniel Quarles of Southeast, D.C.
