On a Thursday afternoon, March 18, 2004, Morris Snead was in the 1600 block of U Street in Southeast Washington, D.C. At approximately 2:45 p.m., the sound of gunfire shattered the day, and when police arrived, they found Mr. Snead suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene, the victim of a homicide. The incident occurred specifically to the rear of 1624 U Street, SE.
